At 6:56 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026, a tractor-trailer traveling westbound on Highway 36 struck the front of a car at the intersection of Highway 36 and Mitchell Road in Chillicothe. The truck then skidded into a guardrail in the median before overturning and striking an eastbound pickup truck. The tractor-trailer came to rest blocking multiple lanes, and a fourth vehicle subsequently struck the trailer. The truck driver suffered minor injuries, the driver of the first car sustained moderate injuries, the pickup driver suffered serious injuries, and the fourth driver sustained minor injuries.
